Reapers. B Company, 1st Battalion, 227th Aviation Regiment, the Apache attack company of the 1st Cavalry Division’s “First Attack” battalion. The 227th’s lineage runs through 14 campaigns in Vietnam, a raid during the 1991 Desert Storm deception plan, and the opening days of the 2003 invasion of Iraq. On March 24, 2003 its Apaches engaged the Republican Guard’s Medina Division south of Baghdad. If you flew or maintained for the Reapers, that name means something, so wear it.
