The Mobile Riverine Force was a joint operation combining the U.S. Army's 9th Infantry Division and the U.S. Navy's River Assault Flotilla One. It utilized armored troop carriers and riverine support vessels to conduct combat operations in the challenging waterways of the Mekong Delta. This innovative approach allowed for greater mobility and adaptability in the dense, riverine environment during the Vietnam War.
