MACV-SOG (Military Assistance Command, Vietnam – Studies and Observations Group) was a covert special operations unit during the Vietnam War. It was established in 1964 and operated under the command of the U.S. Military Assistance Command, Vietnam (MACV). The unit conducted highly classified missions, including reconnaissance, sabotage, and psychological warfare, often behind enemy lines in Laos, Cambodia, and North Vietnam. MACV-SOG played a critical role in gathering intelligence and disrupting enemy operations.
