3rd Battalion, 67th Armor Regiment traces its lineage to Company C, 19th Tank Battalion, constituted in the Regular Army on 24 March 1923, and later became part of the 67th Armored Regiment, which was assigned to the 2nd Armored Division in 1940. The battalion’s lineage served in World War II, Korea, Operation Desert Storm, and Operation Iraqi Freedom, earning campaign streamers and unit decorations including Presidential Unit Citations and a Navy Unit Commendation. After inactivation during Army reorganizations in 2008, 3-67 Armor was reactivated at Fort Stewart, Georgia, and now serves as the “Hound Battalion” in the 2nd Armored Brigade Combat Team, 3rd Infantry Division.
