The U.S. Navy and Marine Corps Parachutist Insignia is a gold badge depicting an open parachute with outstretched wings, awarded to qualified military parachutists. To earn it, personnel must first complete a formal military parachute course and then, under orders, conduct at least five additional static-line jumps, including a combat equipment day jump, two combat equipment night jumps, and jumps from at least two types of military aircraft. It is authorized for both Navy and Marine Corps officers and enlisted personnel who meet these requirements and is worn in place of the basic parachutist insignia.
