The 2nd Battalion, 101st Aviation Regiment, famously known as the "Eagle Warriors," served as a premier attack helicopter powerhouse at Fort Campbell during the transition to the AH-64D Apache Longbow era. Operating primarily under the 101st Aviation Brigade (Attack), the battalion played a pivotal role in the 2003 invasion of Iraq by conducting high-stakes deep-strike missions against the Medina Division. The unit was inactivated and reflagged to the 1st Infantry Division in 2006.
