507th PIR T-shirt

The 507th Parachute Infantry Regiment (PIR) was originally activated in 1942 as part of the 82nd Airborne Division and earned distinction during World War II, particularly in the D-Day invasion, where its paratroopers were among the first to drop behind enemy lines in Normandy. Although it was later inactivated after the war, the unit was reactivated and today operates as the 1st Battalion, 507th Infantry Regiment, located at Fort Moore, Georgia (formerly Fort Benning). It now serves a critical training role, responsible for conducting the U.S. Army Airborne School, where it trains thousands of soldiers, sailors, airmen, and Marines in basic parachute operations. The battalion also supports jumpmaster and pathfinder training, continuing the unit’s airborne legacy through instruction and mentorship.
