The 2nd Ranger Infantry Company (Airborne) was the first and only all-Black Ranger unit in the history of the U.S. Army. Activated in 1950 during the Korean War, this elite company demonstrated exceptional skill and bravery in combat, most notably during the Battle of Hill 581 and the Battle of Tanyang Pass. Despite facing racial segregation within the military, the 2nd Rangers earned a distinguished reputation for their effectiveness in reconnaissance, raids, and direct engagements.
