The 26th Infantry Regiment, known as the "Blue Spaders," was established in 1901 and has served in numerous conflicts throughout its storied history. Originally part of the Philippine-American War, the regiment later played significant roles in both World Wars, including the Meuse-Argonne Offensive during World War I and the D-Day landings in World War II. Today, the 26th Infantry Regiment continues its legacy of excellence as part of the U.S. Army. Currently only the 1st Battalion is active and assigned to the 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 101st Airborne Division (AASLT).
