D Company, 2-149th General Support Aviation Battalion, known as the “Chupacabras,” is an Army aviation maintenance and support company that provides aviation unit-level maintenance and combat aviation support. During its 2008–2010 deployment to Iraq in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom, D Co. provided 24-hour maintenance support across its area of operations to include DART (Downed Aircraft Recovery Team). They also had one of the sickest T-wall art on the whole FOB.
