Combined Joint Special Operations Task Force–Afghanistan (CJSOTF-A) was a United States–led special operations headquarters that commanded multinational special operations forces in Afghanistan during the war following the September 11, 2001 attacks. The task force coordinated missions including counterterrorism, direct action, special reconnaissance, and training of Afghan partner forces across the country. CJSOTF-A operated under the broader command of the NATO-led International Security Assistance Force and later the Resolute Support Mission until the end of U.S. and coalition combat operations.
