506th Infantry Hoodie

The 506th Infantry Regiment was activated in 1942 as a parachute infantry unit and earned distinction with the 101st Airborne Division in World War II, fighting in Normandy, Operation Market Garden, and the Battle of the Bulge. After the war, the regiment went through several reorganizations, and in 1987 its 1st Battalion was assigned to the 2nd Infantry Division in South Korea, where it conducted DMZ security and deterrence missions during the late Cold War period. In Vietnam, battalions of the 506th returned to combat under the 101st Airborne Division and took part in major operations throughout the A Shau Valley and northern I Corps. Today, the regiment serves within the 101st Airborne Division, preserving its legacy of airborne and air assault excellence.
