4-10 Cav Hoodie

The 4th Squadron, 10th Cavalry Regiment, reflagged in October 2007 at Fort Carson from the former 2nd Squadron, 9th Cavalry, and became the sole active squadron of the 10th Cavalry Regiment. Since then, the Black Jack Squadron has deployed multiple times—to Iraq (2007–2009; 2010), Jordan in 2015 for Operation Spartan Shield, and Europe in 2017 as part of Operation Atlantic Resolve. It serves as the reconnaissance and surveillance arm of the 3rd Armored Brigade Combat Team, 4th Infantry Division, equipped with M3 Bradleys, M1 Abrams tanks, and organized into Apache, Blackfoot, Comanche Cavalry Troops, a Dakota Tank Troop, Dragoon Forward Support Troop, and Hunter Headquarters Troop. As the only active remnant of the historic Buffalo Soldier heritage, the 4-10 Cavalry continues to uphold the legacy of the original segregated African American cavalry formed in 1866.
