The 2nd Battalion, 6th Infantry Regiment (“Regulars”) is an infantry battalion assigned to the 3rd Armored Brigade Combat Team, 1st Armored Division at Fort Bliss, Texas. The battalion provides mechanized infantry forces capable of conducting combined-arms maneuver in support of armored operations. Its lineage traces back to the 6th Infantry Regiment, one of the oldest regiments in the U.S. Army, established in 1812.
