187th Infantry Hoodie

The 187th Infantry Regiment, originally constituted on November 12, 1942, was activated at Camp Mackall, North Carolina, and later became part of the famed 11th Airborne Division. The regiment distinguished itself in major World War II battles in the Philippines and Okinawa, and later conducted the first U.S. combat parachute assault in the Korean War during Operation Tomahawk in 1951. Today, the 187th Infantry Regiment—known as the “Rakkasans”—serves as part of the 3rd Brigade Combat Team, 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault) at Fort Campbell, Kentucky.
