The 1st Marine Raider Battalion is a U.S. Marine Corps special operations unit assigned to the Marine Raider Regiment under Marine Forces Special Operations Command. Based at Camp Pendleton, California, the battalion conducts special operations missions in support of U.S. Special Operations Command. Activated in 2006 as 1st Marine Special Operations Battalion, it was redesignated as 1st Marine Raider Battalion in 2015 to honor the legacy of the World War II Marine Raiders.
