Strike Fighter Squadron 143 (VFA-143), known as the “Pukin’ Dogs,” is a U.S. Navy strike fighter squadron established in 1950. The squadron currently operates the F/A-18E Super Hornet and is based at Naval Air Station Oceana. VFA-143 has participated in major operations including the Vietnam War, Operation Desert Storm, Operation Enduring Freedom, and Operation Iraqi Freedom. It is assigned to Carrier Air Wing Seven (CVW-7) and routinely deploys aboard U.S. Navy aircraft carriers.
