Task Force 1-9 Sweatshirt

Task Force 1-9 Infantry, built around the 1st Battalion, 9th Infantry Regiment (“Manchu”), played a central role in Operation Murfreesboro during the Iraq War as part of coalition efforts to secure Ramadi in Al Anbar Province. Conducted in 2006-2007, Operation Murfreesboro was a major counterinsurgency and clearing operation aimed at dismantling entrenched insurgent networks, weapons caches, and safe houses that had turned Ramadi into one of the most contested cities in Iraq. Task Force 1-9 conducted sustained dismounted patrols, cordon-and-search missions, and precision raids in dense urban terrain, often facing coordinated small-arms fire, IEDs, and complex ambushes.
